Synthetic Deer Scents

After years of developing a synthetic formula that works on wild deer, Buck Fever Synthetics LLC brings hunters the most advanced chemistry ever! Our synthetic deer scents contain nothing biological (protein, urine, feces, pathogens, dead body parts, or bacteria). This is 100% safe chemistry and is guaranteed not to cause or spread Chronic Wasting Disease, Tuberculosis, or any other diseases. Buck Fever Synthetics LLC never spoil with age, nor will they spook deer, including mature bucks. Their built-in crystallization is reactivated with moisture (rain for example) and will last for months in the woods. They simply outperform all other deer scents, period!

synthetic deer scent - buck fever f gland buck lureBF-FGland (4oz. or 8oz. spray)

Forehead and other gland activity in a spray bottle! Field tests prove this is the best deer lure ever! Use BF-FGland on licking branches, rubs, vegetation, scent trails, or even in the soil. BF-FGland works on a deer's scent communication instinct anytime of the year. It easily outperforms and outlasts any "gel" or other gland scents. It lures in bucks or does quickly to identify the source by smelling, licking, tasting, or even over-marking it. This is the final and "killing" factor at your synthetic scrape sites.

For opening day results, we suggest starting your synthetic scrapes in the spring or summer, but first time setups often produce quick responses within 24 hours.

A dominant urine formula, BF-Rut blows away all bottled "hot doe" or "dominant buck" pee! Use BF-Rut mainly in scrapes, on scent trails or around your stand. It emits special, mostly hidden, odors that attract rutting bucks and even estrus does, quickly. Deer may even over-mark BF-Rut with their own urine or feces. It works best on a deer's urine attraction just before, during or just after the rut. Setting Buck Traps: Introduce a "synthetic" deer to your area, and make bucks hunt you!

Creating a Synthetic Trap

To make bucks consistently visit your setups always make several synthetic scrapes. You can either use mock (fake) scrapes or existing ones, old or new. Keep in mind, the more you create the better your odds of finding good hunting locations. First, always put them in runways with a proper (downward) overhanging branch for scent communication. Always mark the licking branch with BF-FGLAND. Next, scrape the ground free from debris and put at least a quarter-ounce of BF-PRE/POST RUT in the scrape. For best results, precondition the deer in your area well in advance of season. If year-round setups are possible, keep good response sites active by marking them once a month from February through June. From July through August, re-freshen once every two weeks. Starting in September, mark them once a week. Once you're actually hunting, mark your hunting spot every time you hunt. Starting early in the year, you can often get programmed responses from many deer before season arrives. BF-RUT works best once rutting behavior increases, and can cause quick aggressive responses from rutting deer. A compound benefit at your synthetic scrapes is that many deer will collectively urinate and other scrapes often appear in the area. We call this the “multiplicity factor” and it greatly multiplies your buck activity and chances for success. If you can't precondition your area, quick response sites (buck traps) can work in a hurry. Some of these quick response areas have produced a reaction within days, hours, minutes, or even seconds (really).

Quick Response

If you don't get a response at your synthetic scrapes within a week, move your setup. Deer may not be provoked to responding at your chosen spot if it doesn't offer them the right scrape (scent) environment. Mature deer actually have exact location preferences due to survival. You may only need to move a short distance, but deer will let you know when you've located a hot spot. Always and only use synthetic scrapes as a scouting tool. Just remember to let deer response tell you where the best areas are.

Scent Mark with Gland

Use BF-FGLAND anytime to get a response. Scent mark on licking branches, decoys, vegetation around your stand, rubs, or even create mock-rubs. The more of this gland scent you use, the more it generates a response from any deer. Creating lines of scent communication (multiple rubs and/or scrapes in lines) is truly the best overall tactic used with this approach. By a deer's instinctive nature they simply need to try and identify the new deer leaving all this fresh gland scent in the area. They should keep returning to your scent marking and will actually begin looking for you as a new deer (intruder).

Use a Scent Drag

You can also increase your odds of seeing any buck while hunting by simply dragging a synthetic scent trail. Deer step in their own urine on purpose and bucks naturally follow these scent trails. So if you're controlling your human odor and leave a fresh synthetic scent drag, you've just multiplied your odds of having any buck in the area track you down.

The Best Spot

Your ultimate goal is to locate an area that allows mature deer to respond to your synthetic setups during daylight hours. With this in mind, the very best areas to target are near a buck's bedding, core, or security areas. These are the only areas where you can get any consistent daylight response activity from most mature whitetails. Other areas such as food or travel may produce good responses, but you won't generally see mature animals during daylight there. But by keeping right next to the buck's bedroom you're creating your best chance of getting a big buck response during shooting hours.
